All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are informed that the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India has conducted a Video Conference with all the States and UTs on 17th, 18th and 19th August, 2020. In that conference all the States and UTs had shared practices being followed by them to reach the students during COVID-19 pandemic situation. All those best practices have been complied and shared to all States for learning from/adopting/adapting the useful practices in respective States as per requirement.
After going through all the practices the following are identified by the department so as to replicate in Andhra Pradesh.
1. Dissemination of monthly worksheets of all subjects and class wise to each and every student. (Arunachal Pradesh)
2. “Parent as first teacher” for guiding and motivating parents to help their children to engage them in reading writing and numerical skills (Punjab).
3. Teachers calling 5 students daily and helping them make study plans solve doubts. (Jharkhand)
4. Volunteer teachers visit students to teach /give home work. (Jharkhand)
5. In few pockets especially in green zones teachers conduct community classes in small groups. (Jharkhand)
6. Home visits by teachers, older students taking classes (Goa)
7. WhatsApp Video classes by creating small groups (Tripura).
8. Teacher – Student contact: Every teacher calls 15 students every day and monitors their performance(Gujarat)
9. Loud speaker School: Seeking loud speakers from panchayats and local community, teaching using appropriate pedagogy. (Maharastra)
10. Neighbourhood education centres: Students in the near vicinity with no digital connectivity watch the class in such centres as per the time table. 3.
Therefore, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and all the District Educational Officers in the State are requested to study these best practices and explore the possibility of replicating them by the Headmasters so as to continue learning by the students in this COVID-19 pandemic.
