MINUTES OF THE REVIEW MEETING HELD ON 10.08.2020 BY THE HON’BLE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION, ANDHRA PRADESH ON IMPLEMENTATION OF JAGANANNA GORUMUDDA (MID DAY MEAL SCHEME).
1) A meeting was held on 10.08.2020 by the Hon’ble Minister for Education, A.P at Minister Chambers, 4th Block, AP Secretariat, Velagapudi to review the implementation of Jagananna Gorumudda (Mid Day Meal) Scheme.
The List of Participants who attended the meeting are
i. Shri. B. Rajsekar, IAS, Principal Secretary, School Education
ii. Shri. B. M. Diwan Mydeen, IFS, Director, MDM & School Sanitation
iii.Smt. P.Parvathi, Director (Admin), O/o.CSE., A.P.
iv.Shri. A Subba Reddy, Additional Director, MDM. and
v. MDM Section Staff.
2) The Hon’ble Minister for Education, A.P reviewed about the Jagananna Gorumudda (MDM) Scheme & School Sanitation and informed that, as per the direction of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the School Education Department has been giving top priority for the Jagananna Gorumudda (MDM) Scheme & School Sanitation.
3) DRY RATION: The Director, MDM & School Sanitation, A.P informed the Hon’ble Minister for Education, A.P about providing dry ration consisting of Rice, Eggs and Chikkies to all the students during COVID-19 period in Four Phases from (1) March, 19th 2020 to March, 31st , (2) 1st April to April, 23rd 2020, (3) Summer Dry ration (i.e., April, 24th 2020 to June, 11th 2020) and (4) June, 12thto 31st August, 2020. The Hon’ble Minister instructed to provide dry ration to the students till August, 31st 2020 like it was done previously as the schools are scheduled to open on September, 5th 2020 tentatively and expressed displeasure in the delay of the dry ration distribution.
The Hon’ble Minister for Education instructed to issue guidelines for transparency, monitoring and maintenance of quality and quantity of the dry ration. Further, the Principal Secretary to Government i Minister for Education, A.P about conduct of social audit on the supply of Dry Ration along with Eggs and Chikkies in all districts from April to August-2020 as mandated under MDM guidelines and suggested the Social Audit Units (SAU) set up under MGNREGS, may be actively involved in conducting Social Audit of MDM in all districts. The Hon’be Minister for Education agreed and instructed to proceed onthis matter.
Further, the Director, Mid Day Meal informed to the Hon’ble Minister that,
a. The payment was paid to the implementing agencies up to the March.
b. The file for permission of dry ration was already circulated to the Government for Supply of Eggs and Chikkies in phase-III & IV and files are pending. However, as per oral instructions of the Principal Secretary, the Director,MDM has issued orders for supply of Eggs and Chikkies.
4) CHIKKI TENDER: The Hon’ble Minister for Education, A.P reviewed the status of the Tender.
