స్టాక్‌హౌం : కృష్ణబిలంపై పరిశోధనలకు గానూ ఈ ఏడాది ముగ్గురు శాస్త్రవేత్తలకు భౌతిక శాస్త్రంలో నోబెల్‌ లభించింది. ఈ సువిశాల విశ్వంలో అత్యంత అరుదైన అంశాల్లో ఒకటైన కృష్ణబిలంపై చేసిన పరిశోధనలకు బ్రిటన్‌కు చెందిన రోజర్‌ పెన్‌రోజ్‌, జర్మనీకి చెందిన రీన్‌హార్డ్‌ గెంజెల్‌, అమెరికాకు చెందిన ఆండ్రియా గెజ్‌లకు ఈ పురస్కారం దక్కింది.
సాపేక్ష సిద్ధాంతమే కృష్ణ బిలం ఏర్పాటుకు దారి తీసిందని పెన్‌రోజ్‌ (89) నిరూపించినందుకు ఆయనకు ఈ అవార్డులో సగం దక్కగా, మన నక్షత్ర పుంత కేంద్రకంలోని నక్షత్రాల కక్ష్యలను నియంత్రించే అదృశ్య, భారీ వస్తువొకటి వుందని గెంజెల్‌ (68), గెజ్‌(55) కనుగొన్నందుకు మిగిలిన సగం అవార్డు సంయుక్తంగా వీరికి లభించింది. 1901 తర్వాత భౌతిక శాస్త్రంలో నోబెల్‌ బహుమతి అందుకున్న నాల్గవ మహిళగా గెజ్‌ గుర్తింపు పొందారు.
అనంతమైన అంథకారంతోనే కృష్ణబిలం ఏర్పడి వుండవచ్చని, దాన్నుండి కాంతి కూడా తప్పించుకోలేదని నిరూపించడానికి పెన్‌రోజ్‌ 1965లో గణిత నమూనాను ఉపయోగించారు. ఇక గెంజెల్‌, గెజ్‌లు 1990వ దశకం ప్రారంభంలో పాలపుంత కేంద్రంపై తమ పరిశోధనలు ముమ్మరం చేశారు. ప్రపంచంలోనే అతిపెద్ద టెలిస్కోప్‌ను ఉపయోగించి, వారు మన సూర్యుని ద్రవ్యరాశి కన్నా 40లక్షల రెట్లు పెద్దదిగా వున్న అదృశ్యమైన, భారీగా వున్న వస్తువొకదాన్ని కనుగొన్నారు. ఇదే చుట్టుపక్కల గల నక్షత్రాలను నియంత్రిస్తోందని, మన పాలపుంతకు భ్రమణాలు చేసే లక్షణాన్ని కలిగిస్తోందని వారు కనుగొన్నారు. కరోనా నేపథ్యంలో బహుమతి గ్రహీతలు వారు బహుమతులను వారి దేశాల్లోనే అందుకుంటారు.
